The problem
Moto G is Motorola’s most accessible phone. Competing on more features for a better price only goes so far. G had to make Gen Z across Latin America, Europe and Asia want it, and want their friends to have it too.
The position we took
Nobody joins a scene by buying the right thing. Someone asks them in. For Moto G, accessible means a way in.
What we made
Echoes, a documentary series about three real creators shot with their real friends. Rafaella Braga goes from São Paulo street graffiti to Berlin galleries and comes back to paint with the people who believed in her first. Le Nomad, a DJ raised in eleven cities, makes Madrid home through music. Kazane Shimazaki turns Tokyo laundromats and arcades into a stage for his freestyle crew. The phone is never demonstrated. It gets tossed, passed around, knocked off an amp and dropped in a sink, then used again.
Status
Echoes became the foundation for the next chapters of the Moto G franchise, with the work staying rooted in real life.

Self expression looks like a solo act. It almost never is. Behind every artist there is a crew that saw them first: the friends who showed up to the first gig, held the ladder, shared the post. A phone made for everyone is the phone the whole crew can carry.
